Marsh’s Aberdeen office powers up for expansion

Aberdeen, 18 July 2008

Marsh, the world’s leading insurance broker and risk adviser, today announces a trio of appointments in its Aberdeen office. Shaun Buckett and David Meldrum join the Client Advisory team, and together with newly promoted Development Executive Neil Watters, will build the company’s client base in the oil, gas, marine and education sectors in the North-East of Scotland.

Mr Buckett has worked in the insurance market for 24 years and joins Marsh from Heath Lambert, where he was responsible for the servicing and day-to-day handling of large corporate client accounts. Mr Buckett has extensive experience of the offshore and marine insurance markets and has also been heavily involved in contract vetting work on behalf of energy sector clients.

Mr Meldrum joins Marsh from Aon and has over 30 years’ experience in the insurance market. Mr Meldrum was a Senior Client Service Advisor at Aon and worked on middle market accounts, predominantly in the oil and gas sector.

Previously a Client Advisor, Mr Watters has worked for Marsh for three years servicing corporate clients in the oil, gas, marine and engineering sectors. Mr Watters has worked in the insurance market for over 15 years.

Marsh’s Aberdeen office is also celebrating the anniversary of Diane Clark, a Senior Client Adviser, who has been with the firm for 25 years.

Commenting on the latest appointments, Ron Thomson, Client Management Leader, Scotland, and Head of Marsh’s Aberdeen office, said: “I am delighted to welcome Shaun and David to our team in Aberdeen. Both have extensive industry experience which will be invaluable in these challenging economic times, particularly for our energy clients. Our Aberdeen office is ideally placed to help firms tackle the issues concerning them most, develop more effective insurance and risk management programmes and ultimately gain a competitive edge.”
